A three year project to improve the maternal mental health of women in North Cumbria. Funded by Comic Relief :-)

Local, practical and peer-led support

At the heart of our #MumsTogether project are women supporting each other to prevent and recover from maternal mental health problems like postnatal depression. The Happy Mums Foundation was awarded funding by the national charity Comic Relief to deliver a three year project from 2017.

Is #MumsTogether for me?

If you are pregnant, or have had a baby in the last two years, and:

  • you're feeling sad, anxious, overwhelmed;

  • and/or you are experiencing depression, anxiety or another mental health problem;

  • or you are at higher risk of developing a mental health problem;

...then we would like to help.

You do not need to have been formally diagnosed or discussed this with a health professional (although we always recommend doing so if you feel able to).

Sometimes, where other factors are involved such as bereavement or domestic abuse, we might not be able to offer the type of support you need right now, but we will always discuss this with you and make a decision together. We may be able to signpost you to an alternative.

What do you offer?

How do I get involved?

You can access our services directly (self-referral) or ask a healthcare professional (eg Health Visitor or GP) to refer you.
